Upcoming Meeting

Our October meeting will be held on Thursday, October 22nd from 5:30 – 7:30 pm in the Venue Room of Library 21c during which we will conduct our annual business meeting. Please bring ideas of what you would like to see or do in 2027. This will be the last meeting of 2026 since we do not meet in November or December for regular meetings.

Our last competition will be held during our October 22nd meeting. The themes for the competition are Nature, John Fielder, and Open. John Fielder was an American landscape photographer, nature writer, the publisher of over 40 books, and a conservationist. He was nationally known for his landscape photography with many of his photos taken here in Colorado. Before he passed away, John Fielder donated more than 7,000 images to History Colorado. Photos vying for this award should be in the style of photographs that he took.

Leadership Meeting

The PDIS leadership meeting will be held Monday October 19th at Academy Art & Frame starting at 1:00pm. We will be discussing items for our business meeting and looking ahead to 2027. All are welcome!

Field Trip to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Our next field trip is planned for the second week of November to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. This year is the zoo’s 100 anniversary. Exact date and details will be announced later.

Book Opportunity

A local poetry group, Last Saturday Poets, is looking for photographers to submit photos of Colorado in winter for their new book “Winter: The Colorado Perspective”.  They would like to publish your photos along with their poetry.  Deadline for submission is November 1st.  Please see member email on how to submit your photos.
